He is an actor who believes in juggling several roles off screen as well as on screen. We are talking about Dr Bharath Reddy who is a cardiologist at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. However he is better known in tinseltown as the man who played the role of Inspector Sethuraman in Kamal’s Unnail Pol Oruvan recently.
Speaking about his dual roles in life Reddy says, “I graduated from Cho’s La Chatelaine School in Chennai and completed my medical studies in Armenia and am now junior consultant cardiologist at Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad. But I have been working in films in Telugu already.”
Reddy’s first Tamil maybe Unnai Pol Oruvan but he has played small roles in 18 Telugu films. His big break came in Siddham directed by JD Chakravarti in which he played second lead as a cop. “Chakri Toleti saw me in this film and decided to recommend my name to Kamal Sir,” says Reddy.
It however took a month for them to be convinced he could do it. “I am the only actor who interacted with Kamal, Mohanlal and Venkatesh on screen,” he says proudly. “Kamal sir and Mohanlal sir both made us feel very comfy on the sets and would joke around with us to keep us from getting tense in their presence,” he recalls. Kamal also conducted a three day workshop to get the actors into their roles.
This is the first time however that the actor has grown a moustache in his life. The actor is now looking forward to making his mark in negative roles in Tamil films. His Telugu film career is going strong as well with three films set to release.
