Bharathi Devi has denied all the allegations made by actress Anjali.

She said that Anjali is her sister`s daughter and was adopted by her when Anjali was 15 years old. Anjali`s mother is now residing in the Gulf countries. Bharathi Devi explained that Anjali`s behaviour started changing after she attained stardom with the film Shopping Mall, the dubbed version of Angadi Teru

According to Bharathi Devi, she did scold Anjali for her bad behaviour as she was worried about her daughter, and there is nothing more to it, she added.

Anjali`s confession hogs the headlines today. Her statement that she`s in total penury now after her step mom robbed everything from her shocked everyone.

She also said her `Pinni` (step-mom) and a Tamil director harassed her physically and mentally. This shocking confession was all over Telugu and Tamil newspapers this morning. And news channels started telecasting the news too. Now, Anjali is not to be seen anywhere. Her mobile has been switched off, says her brother Ravi Shankar.

But producer Sravanthi Ravikishore is confident that she would join the shooting of his film tomorrow in Bangalore. She is acting in the remake of Bol Bachchan opposite Venkatesh in the film and the movie shooting is progressing in Bangalore now.

This is not just her story. Many heroines in the past went through similar situations. But what shocked everyone is the confession that Bharati Devi is not her mother as no one knew until now that she is her step mother. Anjali used to call her `amma` and Bharati Devi handled everything about the actress` life and she used to accompany the actress to shootings too.

People who have seen her from the beginning of her career in the industry are aware that Anjali is the breadwinner of her family and her gusty attitude and hardworking nature made her what she`s today.

She hails from Rajolu, a small town in East Godavari district. But she moved to Chennai at the age of 15 and continued her studies and later tried her luck in films. She made her debut in director Siva Nageswara Rao`s Photo in 2006 but the film didn`t win her any brownie points.

Later she made debut in Tamil with the film, Kattradhu Thamizh. Films like Journey (Engeyum Epppodham in Tamil) and Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu made her more popular. She is now working in two more Telugu films.
