Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt today canvassed for Uttarakhand Chief Miniter Vijay Bahuguna's son Saket, who is contesting on a Congress ticket for the upcoming Tehri Lok Sabha bypoll.
Addressing the crowd, Dutt said Congress is the only party which could rise above caste and religion lines to bring development in the state and they should vote for the party to allow it to carry forward the development process.
Dutt said his family has been with Congress from the time of his father Sunil Dutt and this relationship is an unbreakable one.
The Tehri Lok Sabha seat in Uttarakhand is set for a battle royale between the scions of two powerful political families when it goes to bypoll on October 10.
Vying for electoral glory in a field of 14 are BJP's Mala Raj Laxmi Shah, the daughter-in-law of erstwhile Tehri royal family scion Manvendra Shah, who represented the seat in Lok Sabha for a record eight time, and Congress' Saket Bahuguna, son of Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna and grandson of former UP chief minister Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna.
