Srikanth’s Bose did not make it to the theatres as scheduled on Saturday Oct 9th due to last minute financial dispute. The marathon settlement meeting which started on Friday evening continued through Saturday and finally in the early hours of Sunday morning the creditors agreed to waive off a part of the amount due to them!
The prints left the lab at 5 am on Sunday morning and will make it to the theatres in southern districts of Madurai and beyond only for Matinee show. In Chennai and surrounding areas, the film opened with noon shows.
These last minute settlement struggles of Tamil producers cause huge loses to the distributors and exhibitors. Nearly Rs 5 Lakhs worth advertisements and publicity was spend on Bose announcing the release date. The audience had turned up at the theatres to see the film on the opening day and left disappointed.
According to a rough estimate, Bose lost Rs 35 to 40 Lakhs due to this late release. When will the industry turn professional by releasing their films on time after making all settlements?
