Dileep's Lal Jose directed eagerly awaited Mulla , the first of the summer releases took a bumper two day opening on Thursday and Friday from 48 screens in Kerala and is this weeks number one. But the film carries mixed reports and will not be a hit. At number two Cycle remains steady, with families patronizing it as the summer holiday season begins. The best performance of Cycle is at Ernakulam Shenoys, where in 42 days it has grossed approximately Rs 35 lakhs. In the third position is the low class mass masala Kerala Police, which is ok when you compare its cost of production. The film has grossed Rs 4.10 lakh in its first week from Thiruvananthapuram Kripa. After the exam seasons got over families are going in large number to see Katha Parayumbol, which has grossed Rs 54 lakhs from Ramya in Thiruvananthapuram in 100 days and is rock steady at number four. Malabar Wedding has been critically acclaimed but at the box-office it is below average and is in the fifth position.
