Chennai Box-Office (June 13-15)
Tuesday, 17 June, 2008, 05:53
Kamal Hassan's big budget extravaganza Dasavatharam rules the Chennai box-office. From 17 screens in the city it has netted a record 95.5 lakhs in three days, a new record. The Chennai Corporation had given the producer special permission to hold five shows daily, which helped the film to garner the extraordinary opening. Actually Dasavatharam on CBO should be from No: 1 to 5, as the second highest collecting film does not have even one-tenth its collection this weekend. All other earlier releases which were holding on collapsed. At number two for the sake of having a rating list is Santosh Subramaniyam, in the third position is Priyadarsan's Mere Baap Pehle Aap which had a good opening but fell by Sunday due to negative word of mouth. In the fourth place Kuruvi and in the fifth place is last week's number one, Sarkar Raj, which has fallen badlyNote : Ratings are based on the box office collections and the cost of the film
