Box office reports
Debut director/producer M Sasikumar's sleeper hit Subramaniapuram has emerged a winner at the CBO. It garnered 100 per cent during the weekends and 80 to 85 per cent during weekdays—as more theatres and shows have been added in its third week.

Dasavatharam has fallen to the number two position. At number three is The Dark Knight, which grossed a record $ 158 million at the US box-office last weekend. But the critically acclaimed superhero film is faring just OK in Chennai, where the Tamil and English versions opened in 11 screens, because the audience did not like the Joker dominating—which meant less of heroics and more of dialogues.

Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na continues to remain rock steady at the fourth position, while Kismat Konnection, thanks to its fantastic one-day opening, managed to squeeze itself into the fifth place.
