Crazy Gopalan Happy New Year, Malayalam cinema is in a bad shape as big budget star movies are bombing. The biggest hit in January is Dileep`s Crazy Gopalan, which released for Christmas. The film had a slow start but picked up very well and can be classified as a hit. At Ernakulam Padma the film has taken a distributors share of Rs 17 lakhs in 35 days, in Thiruvananthapuram the share is close to Rs 15 lakhs while in Kozhikode Coronation it has crossed Rs 14 lakhs. The film is going to celebrate 50 days in 6 releasing stations, which is fantastic by any yardstick BO verdict : Super Hit

Twenty: 20 The film is the biggest box-office hit in the history of Malayalam films. It has grossed over Rs 20 crore in 70 days, which is phenomenal by any standards. The film will be celebrating 100 days in 10 centers next week. BO verdict : Mega Blockbuster

Makante Achan It had a very ordinary start, but picked up after family audiences took it up. The film proves beyond doubt that Sreenivasan has an audience. The film is doing well in smaller stations also though it is best at Ernakulam Shenoys and Thiruvananthapuram Ajantha and Kripa. BO verdict : Above Average

Love in Singapore The film is turning out to be a major embarrassment for Mammootty, no film of his in recent times has opened so badly. In Ernakulam it opened in Saritha and Kavitha, but after two days one of them discontinued the film! BO verdict : Colossal Flop

Colours Why did Dileep do this idiotic film? It is so ridiculous that audiences vented their fury on theatre furniture after watching the film in many places across Kerala. BO verdict : Total Washout
