Pazhassi Raja, rules the Kerala box-office. Six weeks after its
release (42 days), the film has grossed a whopping Rs 13 crore from
the releasing stations. No Malayalam film has done this in the past.
In Thiruvananthapuram, the film has almost touched a gross of Rs 1
crore, and a share of approximately Rs 50 lakh, which by any yardstick
is fantastic. The film rules and is in the number one position.
At number two is the Hollywood film 2012, which statewide
has the collections of an M & M (Mammootty and Mohanlal) film. In
Ernakulam Shenoys, the net is about Rs 23 lakh in three weeks!
In the third place is Lal Jose- MT Vasudevan Nair combo’s
Neelathamara with newcomers which has taken a good opening in
towns mainly A stations like Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode
etc and can be classified as a hit.
In the fourth position is Ranjith’s Kerala Café, which is an
average grosser and in fifth position is Utharaswayamvaram,
which is also very average and gets in to the chart to fill up the
numbers.
