Box office reports
The Independence Day weekend was not exactly rocking due to lack of big movies. Still Pandiraj directed Vamsam, the launch pad of chief minister Karunanidhi’s grand son Arulnidhi due to its high profile promotions opened at the number one position and netted approximately around Rs 24 lakh. At number two is Aamir Khan produced satire Peepli Live, which opened in seven screens including Sathyam big screen and grossed around Rs 23 lakhs. In the third place is the Hollywood multi starrer with action heroes The Expendables. Madhrasapattinam at number four is still a favourite with the family audiences.
