Looks like Red Giant’s Udayanidhi Stalin and successful producer and hero Arya of Boss Engira Baskaran fame are on everybody’s guest list at audio functions these days. Yet another glittering audio event took place at Sathyam cinemas this morning in the presence of the duo.
Udayanidhi launched the music of Kamal Nayan’s Aanmai Thavarel while Arya received it. The trailer was then launched by SS Kumaran and received by Vetrimaran. The producer is a leading distributer and film financer who now turns to production under the Red Head Entertainments banner.
Debut director Kulandhai Velappan has worked on one schedule of Solli Adippen with Ramki and then when onto to make this film. The hero is Dhruva, a former model turned hero. The heroine Sruthi debuts in Tamil after one film in Kannada. Subbu Panchu plays the villain character, after debuting in films with Boss Engira Baskaran. Ganja Karuppu and Sampath are also in the cast.
The trailer and one song were screened. The film’s music is by Mariya Manohar while Karthik Netha has written the lyrics for all the songs. The camerawork is by Arabindhu Saraa, a former assistant of MS Prabhu. Said Udayanidhi, “Kamal Nayan is very close to me and I have learnt a lot about cinema from him. In fact he is the one whose office we used for a long time. He always tells me to look at a film’s collections and gauge its success away from Chennai in areas beyond Chinglepet. The pure Tamil title used seems attractive and I am sure this film will do well.”
Arya revealed that the hero Dhruva was a close friend. He added, “Producer Kamal Nayan has helped a lot of people and in fact we wanted him to co produce Naan Kadavul but that didn’t work out.”
Producer KS Srinivasan said, “Kamal Nayan has always been a great help and moral support.” Cheran too was all praise for the film, “The title is beautiful and the trailer urges you to see the film. “ RB Chowdary was happy that a financer like Kamal was now turning producer too.
The director revealed that the film was an action and love story and involves a certain series of illegal incidents that took place in Goa upto the nineties. The film travels from Chennai to Goa over 2000 kilometres through unconventional routes and remote areas and was shot in 60 locations over 70 days. The other dignitaries present included Karu Palaniappan, Rama Narayanan, Rajesh and LM Muralidharan amongst others.
