| Puneet Raj Kumar starrer Hudugru has opened very well and the response has been wonderful so far. Hudugru will be a super hit film as far as its return on investment is concerned, but will it be able to meet the expectations of distributors who have bought the rights of the film by paying a price which is almost equal to that of Puneet`s earlier film Jackie is to be seen.
Since the film opened on Thursday, there were instances when big crowds were not seen in front of theatres, though the bookings were
full. Friday was a general holiday which attracted a good number of family crowds. Even Sunday`s collections have been quite impressive.
No other Kannada producer had the courage to release the film in competition with Hudugru.
Golden Star Ganesh`s film Kool which is directed by the actor himself is releasing on May 12. It has to be seen how Hudugru and Kool will perform after a week.
While Sanju Weds Geetha is doing good in Bengaluru and Mysore, Kempe Gowda is ruling the roost in smaller centres like
Shimoga, Davanagere, Hubli, Belgaum and other places.
Low profile Hindi movies can never boast of good collections in Bengaluru. All the recent Hindi films with faceless stars have
received lukewarm response.
Jeyam Ravi`s Tamil film Engeyum Kaadhal directed by Prabhu Deva has received a cool response while Telugu film 100% Love has been attracting a lot of young crowds. Since its acquisition price is a bit low, the film may break even, say trade analysts.
