They have also benefited from the Tamil Nadu government GO allowing five shows per day.As per collections, 7aum Arivu is marginally ahead as it has collected around Rs 2.35 Crore due to the film opening in Chennai city, a day earlier (Oct 25) with Matinee shows. The film also had the largest number of screens ever for a film in Chennai city and advance booking opened a week before release.Velayudham which opened on Diwali day (Oct 26) is neck to neck with 7aum Arivu and has collected a whopping Rs 2.10 Crore in five days from lessor number of screens. The word of mouth for the film is very encouraging, especially among youth and family audiences.The real battle between Velayudham and 7aum Arivu will be in the second week, as opinions crystallize among the audiences. In the number two position is Shah Rukh Khan`s RA.One in Hindi and Tamil. The film opened huge on Diwali day due to superstar Rajinikanth`s one-minute appearance in the film, but subsequently fell due to mixed reports. However, the film managed to get a whopping Rs 65 lakhs from its Hindi and Tamil versions together.Engeyum Eppothum though playing in only limited screens due to Diwali releases is doing steady business and is at number three. In the fourth place is Vaagai Sooda Vaa.
