The fright flick starring Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as parents of a possessed girl stayed atop the box office in its second weekend, the lowest grossing this year.
The box office's total revenue of $67 million marked the worst weekend for the film industry since the weekend after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks when revenues were down to $59.7 million. It was also the first time since 2008 that no film managed to crack the $10 million mark.
