The Chennai box-office is booming. Vijay’s Thuppakki is creating new records. It has taken a distributor share of Rs 4.60 Crore in 13 days which is phenomenal by any yardstick. Thuppakki is the clear number one by a mile. In the number two slot is Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, which has taken a good opening in Chennai city. The English version is a winner. At number three is Podaa Podi which is holding on only in multiplexes and in the fourth position is Pizza, which is still drawing the audiences. Finally at number five is the Telugu film Nagarjuna`s Damarukam.
