Kerala Box-Office – December 1 to 9

Tuesday, 10 December, 2013, 02:19

The only exception is Jayasurya`s Punyalan Agarbathis which has turned out to be a super hit. The film is being liked by all including family audiences for its lighthearted humor.Ranjith Shankar directed Punyalan Agarbathis is the clear number one by a mile. The film has grossed from 67 screens an impressive Rs 3.85 in 10 days (November 29 to Dec 8), with a distributor share of Rs 1.80 Crore.Punaylan Agarbathis is a super hit when you consider the production cost of Rs 2.75 Cr. It has a potential to do a life time share of Rs 3.5 from theatricals. Add another Rs 3 Cr from satellite television rights. PA is doing best at Sarita-Ernakulam, Girija- Trichur and Radha-Kozhikode.Way down at number two position is Philips & the Monkey Pen, a children`s film which became an instant hit with family audiences and has taken a distributor share of Rs 2.15 Cr.For want of hits, the rest of KBO is just academic. In the third place is Vineeth Sreenivasan`s Thira, which is only an average grosser and may break even. At number four is Mammootty`s VK Prakash directed Silence, which is very silent at the box-office. And at number five is Kamal`s Nadan, which got some critical acclaim.
