Box office reports

The number one at the CBO this week is Jayam Ravi`s Nimirinthu Nil. The film released late on Saturday evening, due to financial hassles but opened well in Chennai city and suburbs. The film carries ok reports. Many multiplexes gave it maximum shows on Sunday, as it was tax free and enjoyed the benefits.

In the second place is 300: Rise of an Empire, which had a Friday advantage as it got all the big screens, which were booked for Nimirinthu Nil. At number three is Thegidi, which also got the advantage plus strong WOM.

Idhu Kathirvelan Kathal which is now tax free continues to attract family audiences and is in the fourth position. Vallinam is at number five.
