Vijay’s Theri has taken the CBO by storm, by doing nearly Rs 4 Crore in four days, from the CBO. It netted a whopping Rs 1.06 Crore on the first day from nearly 50 screens in Chennai city, the highest ever city opening.

SPI Pictures have aggressively marketed Theri across Chennai city getting prime screens and maximum shows. A major boost for the film is its tax free, thereby garnering huge numbers and clearly the number one by a mile at CBO.

In the second place is The Jungle Book, which is rocking with terrific pressure to get tickets from the large family audiences. At number three is Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan, which got only a few screens and shows.

Thozha continues to get family audiences and is at number four. In the fifth place is the Malayalam Nivin Pauly film Jacobinte Swargarajiyam, which is holding well in its second week after a limited release.
