The big surprise winner at CBO this week is Nivin Pauly’s Richie, which had the best pre-release hype and advance booking. Richie has grossed Rs 72 lakhs from Friday to Sunday and is number one at CBO.

Sasikumar’s Kodiveeran, which opened a day earlier on Thursday, had a four-day weekend, which enabled it to gross 92 lakhs, but for three day weekend the gross fell short of Richie and it is at number two.

In the third place is Sibi Sathyaraj’s Sathya, which took an average day one and played in smaller screens. But by Sunday the WOM on the film was the best among new releases, helping it to touch Rs 50 lakhs. From Monday it has moved to bigger screens and will assert itself.

Thiruttu Payaale 2 managed to hold on in the second week, and its at number four. In the fifth position is Theeran Adhigaram Ondru. The Karthi cop story is celebrating its 25th day this week and has grossed around Rs 6 Cr from Chennai city and can be classified a hit.
