The shooting for the movie Brahma, which features maverick actor-director Upendra in the lead role, has shifted to Malaysia. Shooting for action sequences and songs will take place for 15 days in Kuala Lampur and Putrajaya.

The movie is being directed by R Chandru, who delivered the hit Charminar earlier this year. Pranitha Subhash is the female lead of the movie.

The shooting for the movie commenced last month in Mysore and the solo portions of Uppi were canned for 8 days. Produced by Mailari Enterprises,  Brahma depicts Uppi in a godfather’s role. However, there is no mythology attached to it though the title suggests as such.

Chandru has also written the story, screenplay and dialogue for the movie. Top stunt directors Ravi Verma and Thriller Manju are directing the action sequences. After completing shooting in Malaysia, the unit will shift to Bangkok where one song will be canned.

Ismail is the art director while Shekhar is the cinematographer of  Brahma. Gurukiran has composed music for the movie, including two dance numbers. Pradeep Anthony will choreograph the songs.

Brahma’s star cast includes Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Sayaji Shinde, Nassar, Rahul Dev, Girish Karnad, Bullet Prakash and Suchendra Prasad. The movie is expected to complete shooting by the first week of July. The movie is expected to be released during September October. With hardly any hits in the last one year, Upendra is keen that Brahma becomes a super hit.
