Avg user rating:

Brindavana is the kind of movie that elevates itself above the easily achieved fan frenzy and moves beyond shallow clinging to film lineages. The movie is a romantic family entertainer and director K. Madesh impresses in his attempts to showcase Darshan as a class hero with mass instincts, taking the audience on an entertaining ride.

Krishna, who is the pampered son of multi-millionaire parents (Sharath Babu and Geetha), is full of family affection. He's such a good Samaritan that he always helps the love birds triumph over the complications caused by others and unites them. Meanwhile, he is also seen romancing Madhu (Milana Nagaraj). The complications start when Madhu's friend, Bhoomi (Karthika Nair), enters the story. Bhoomi has faked a love affair at home in order to avoid getting married to her cousin Ajay. Madhu asks Krishna to help her friend Bhoomi by pretending to be her boyfriend. Krishna agrees to help but is not aware of the problems he's going to face when he reaches Bhoomi's village. What happens when he reaches the village and how he faces the emotional turmoil and unites the rival brothers and everyone there forms the rest of the story.

Though the movie is not a one-man show, Darshan steals the show with his performance. In full contrast to his original mass hero image, Darshan is seen as an out and out class hero. Milana and Karthika have just managed to pull things off, without impressing much. The comedy by Sadhu Kokila and Prathap are the highlights of the movie while Sampath Raj and Saikumar have done justice to their roles. Doddanna as a senior actor is commendable along with the other supporting star cast. Cinematographed by Ramesh Babu, the movie has stunts composed by Palani Raj and music by V.Harikrishna. Director K. Madesh has managed to bring in the family audiences to the theatre with a mixture of melodrama and comedy. Producers P.S. Sarinivasmurthy and D. Suresh Gowda have invested on the right man, because if it was not for Darshan, Brindavana could have sunk without a trace.

Verdict: Entertaining
