Simhadri, one of the most anticipated films of the year, starring Duniya Vijay and Soundarya Jayamala in the lead roles, has got a U/A certification from the censor board. Simhadri also marks the comeback of director Shivamani after three years. The film is likely to release on October 2 and is touted to be one of the big releases in the second half of 2014.
Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president H D Gangaraju released the songs of Duniya Vijay starrer Simhadri at the Chamundeshwari preview theater in Bangalore recently.
Vijay, who is riding on the success of Jayammana Maga has high expectations on the film. Whereas, on the other hand, it is a very important project for Soundarya Jayamala, who needs a big break in Sandalwood. Most of her movies, including her debut with Upendra in God Father, has failed miserably at box office! So it is a litmus test for Soundarya Jayamala.
Simahdri, set in a village backdrop is said to be the story of a brother and sister and their love for each other. Sentiment and action are said to be the crux of the movie.
It also marks the return of producer R S Gowda and director Shivamani who were last seen together with Sudeep starrer Tirupathi.
Shivamani who is known for his variety of films, is directing a sentimental story for the first time. For Duniya Vijay too, the sentimental part is a very new thing.
Time to wait and watch if Shivamani's comeback is worth appreciating!
