The new version of the 1974 film Chattakkari will hit the screens on Thursday. The original was directed by K S Sethumadhavan and the remake is being directed by his son Santhosh Sethumadhavan.
Chattakkari, based on a novel by Pamman, talks about the love affair between an Anglo Indian girl and a Hindu boy. The original version had Lakshmi in the lead role and the film was remade in Hindi as Julie.
The brand new Chattakkari has Shamna Kasim in the lead. The cast includes Hemanth, Hari, Innocent, Suvarna Mathew and Sukumari.
Revathy Kalamandir, the banner which remade Neelathamara and Rathinirvedam, is producing the movie. The music director is M Jayachandran.
