Darshan starrer Chingari has obtained the biggest openings in recent times.
The first three days` collection in around 180 theatres in the state has once again proven that the Challenging Star is really a Sultan of huge openings.
The film`s distributor says that he has already recovered nearly Rs. 2.5 crores from the first three days` collections of the film.
"This is perhaps the biggest collection for any Kannada film so far", says Prasad of Sammarth Ventures. Even if the collections drop by fifty percent in the next four days the earnings for the distributor range from Rs. 5 to 5.5 crores, says trade analysts.
The distributor`s total cost along with the money spent on publicity will be around Rs. 9 crores out of which more than nearly 50 percent would be recovered in the first week itself.
Challenging Star Darshan expressed happiness over the fact that Chingaari, which followed his block buster film Saarathee, has started off very well and thanked his fans.
"I will be happy if the distributor of the film makes a good profit as he has trusted the product and acquired the rights. The producers have made profits, but I want the distributors and exhibitors also to be happy", said Darshan.
