The audio launch of Avni Cinemax’s fifth film Nagaram was a grand affair at the Satyam cinemas today evening (Sep 4).

The event was attended by several Kollywood personalities and politicians. The audio was launched by none other than the Kalaignar himself and received by Kamal Haasan in the presence of Rama Narayanan, Vairamuthu, music director Thaman, heroine Anuya, hero Sundar C and producer Khushboo.

Members in the audience included Deputy CM Stalin, Kanimozhi, VC Guhanathan, Editor Mohan, Jeyam Ravi, KS Srinivasan, Sivasakthi Pandian, Katragadda Prasad and others.

The event was different from the usual audio launches and had some live performances. One song and dance from the film was performed by Miriam who also features in the film while another performance was by the heroine Anuya.

A comedy track featuring Vairamuthu and Sundar C was screened apart from a song and the trailer of the film. The film is about a gangster who wants to reform and the challenges he faces.

Sundar C gave the welcome address saying, “This is an unforgettable day in my life having the CM and Kamal at my audio launch like this. The comedy tracks in my films are talked about and I take inspiration from the sense of humour the CM has under the most stressful conditions.” He also used the occasion to thank Kamal for Anbe Sivam, a film done several years ago by the duo.

Said Kamal, “Sundar and Khushboo are my friends and I have come here due to friendship. Functions like these also give me a good opportunity to meet the CM and so I look forward to such events. But that’s not to say he is not accessible to us at other times. He is one CM whom we can always meet whenever we need to. I don’t know any other state where this is possible.”

Vairamuthu praised the creativity and presence of mind of Sundar C in his ventures while Khushboo in her speech traced her journey as a producer. “When I started out as producer, people said that actresses have no good raasi or luck as producers but Giri became a hit. I thank the CM for agreeing immediately to our request to be here today and also thank Kamal who is a friend who can always be counted on as a tremendous support. When choosing the music director we wanted someone young and fresh and chose Thaman who has done a great job.”
