This year’s Kerala state film awards presentation function has been hogging the headlines now, with the controversy over the “Chief Guest” taking a serious turn.

The Chief Guest in the issue, is Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, as it is known to all.

A joint statement signed by 107 persons, which includes noted names like actor Prakash Raj, filmmakers Rajeev Ravi, Dr. Biju, Priyanandanan, editor Bina Paul,  actress Rima Kallingal, writer N S Madhavan and journalist Venkitesh Ramakrishnan among others, without mentioning the name of the chief guest, has been submitted to the Chief Minister.

The statement demands that the move to invite the superstar for the function should be revoked, as his own films were considered for the awards this year.

As per latest reports, Mohanlal has made it clear that he has not been invited for the function yet.
