Diwali 2012 is just six days away on Tuesday, November 13.

As of now it looks like a straight battle between Vijay’s Thuppakki and STR’s Podaa Podi. And three small films – Ajantha, Ammavin Kaipesi and Kasi Kuppam have also announced a November 13 release.  Udhayanidhi Stalin has announced that his Neerparavai which was to release on November 23 will come for Diwali if Podaa Podi does not make it.
Thuppakki which has been censored with an U certificate has come out with a release ad saying a November 13 release in today’s paper. Says producer Kalaipuli S Thanu :“ We have announced our release date as Diwali day. The film is sure going to be a cracker of a movie at the box-office and will be releasing in over 1000 screens.”

Meanwhile STR has denied the industry rumours that his Podaa Podi will not release for Diwali. Says a spokesperson of Gemini Film Circuit: “ Podaa Podi as of now is on course for a November 13 release. We will be censoring the film in the next two days. Get ready for a romantic Diwali, the music of the film is a chartbuster.”
