Superstar Darshan’s next project – Ambareesha – was launched in a grand manner in Bangalore on Thursday with the bigwigs of Sandalwood attending it. Sumalatha Ambarish, wife of veteran super star, Ambarish, clapped for the first scene, which was canned by director Mahesh Sukhadare.
The costliest movie in the history of Kannada film industry, Ambareesha, has a budget of Rs 20 crore. The director, incidentally, is also producing the movie, which will be shot for over 70 days from September onwards. The movie will hit the screens only next year.
The movie has two female leads – Priyamani and newbie Nisha Yogeeshwara, daughter of veteran actor and politician, C P Yogeeshwara. However, Priyamani was absent at the launch of Ambareesha, as she is traveling abroad. The rest of the star cast was present on the occasion.
Darshan’s favourite technical team – music composer V Harikrishna and lyricist Kaviraj – were among those present on the occasion. Top film directors, Shivamani, Dinakara Toogudeepa and M S Ramesh also graced the occasion.
Darshan was on a break for two weeks. Incidentally, he underwent treatment for his shoulder injury, which he suffered after falling from a horse during the shooting of Brindavana in Iceland. He spent a few days in a hospital before being discharged.
The super star has retained some of his personal favourites for the movie, such as, Harsha (choreographer) and Ravi Verma (action director) for Ambareesha. Director Mahesh Sukhadare is staging a comeback after a long gap in Sandalwood.
