Dates get shuffled as September gets crowded

Too many releases are being planned in the month of September including half a dozen movies with newcomers.

There is so much pressure to book screens which are demanding rentals as they feel some of the films will not even cover theatre electricity charges!

On September 9, three movies are scheduled to release- Kasethan Kadavulda, Thikathathe Kathal, and Mathikettan Salai. September 16 will see Engeyum Eppodhum,  Vanthaan Venthraan, Aduthathu and Aayiram

UTV’s Muran which was to release on September 16 has now pushed its release date to September 23. The idea is that they do not want to get caught among a clutter of releases. They may get a solo release as Vaigai Sooda which was earlier scheduled on the same day has gone into a slumber.

And on September 30 two big films are planning their release Vishal’s Prabhu Deva directed Vedi and Dhanush’s Selvaraghavan directed Mayakkam Enna.

Meanwhile Tamil Nadu theatres prefer to run Ajith’s super hit Mankatha, which they feel is a safer bet than any new releases!
