Dhanush, the ‘wonder boy’ of Kollywood is going through a bad phase as his last few films have turned out to be turkeys at the box-office.
Dhanush’s decline started after his dad Kastoori Raja in his greed to make more money signed movies by the dozen. Added to that, moving away from his core strength of “boy next-door” type off-beat roles to larger-than-life super hero backfired in Puthukotayil Saravanam and Sullan.
Now both father and son have realized their mistakes and are trying to make a comeback. Last Friday, they launched a new film titled Thiruvilayadal with Dhanush’s sister Vimala Geeta as the producer, which is a modern day comedy to be directed by Bhoopathy Pandian.
But the film has run into trouble with fans of the legend Sivaji Ganesan objecting to the title Thiruvilayadal being given to a Dhanush film! They claim that this mythological classic is one of the most memorable films of the thespian.
According to K.Chandrasekharan the Sivaji Ganesan Fans president: “It is an insult to Sivaji Ganesan and one of the all time classics in Tamil films”. They have requested producer Vimala Geeta to change the title and respect the sentiments of the fans of Sivaji Ganesan.
