At the audio launch of Kaala, the film’s producer and Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush spoke about the intention of Wunderbar Films and his relationship with Superstar.
“I thank Superstar’s fans, his soldiers for gracing the event. Kaala is 12th film of Wunderbar Films, I started the production house to encourage budding talents and we have come a long way. Thanks to my mom, dad and the entire unit of Kaala including Nana Patekar”, said Dhanush.
“I know Superstar does not like praising him on stage but I have to tell this to everyone. I attended the last day shoot of Kaala, the scenes were supposed to be completed at 11.30 PM but it went on until 3 in the morning. I was worried about sir’s health because there was dust in the shooting spot and suggested him to go home but he told me ‘This is what feeds us, you know how many people are struggling outside without opportunity’, it shows his love and dedication to his job. We all know that Rajinikanth sir is India’s biggest superstar but he is on top when it comes to hard work and dedication”, praised Dhanush.
“There are two ways to become famous, one is through pure hard work and the other way is to speak wrong about the person who came up in life with his own effort and struggle. People who earned money and fame through Rajinikanth sir is actually hurting him with their recent speeches. When we were distributing invitations of Kaala, I went and asked Rajini sir whether we should invite those people who hurt him, he replied: “All are our friends, invite them just like how we used to do in the past”. After this incident, I learned patience from Rajini sir”, said the proud son-in-law.
“From humble beginnings, today Rajinikanth is being celebrated as Thalaivar (leader). Tomorrow, he might become anyone and it depends on what people and God’s decision. I still remember this incident, as a small boy, I picked money from my dad’s pocket and watched Baasha on the big screen. Kaala is not a film which comes out from an actor turned producer Dhanush, it’s a film made by a die-hard fan named Venkatesh Prabhu”.
