It is confirmed that Anand L Rai’s Dhanush’s debut film in Hindi Raanjhnaa’s dubbed Tamil version Ambikapathy will release on June 28. The Tamil version will release a week after the Hindi release on June 28. It means a likely clash with Dhanush’s Maryan, scheduled to release on same day.
Ambikapathy distributor in Tamil Nadu Abirami Ramanathan organised a big press meet on Tuesday (June 18) evening. The lead pair Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor along with director Anand L Rai were present on the occasion.
Sonam Kapoor looked beautiful in a pink Kancheevaram sari and was looking like a south Indian with ‘Mallipoo’ (Jasmine flowers) on her hair. Sonam Kapoor's look at the Raanjhnaa promotions all over India has been the talk of Bollywood, as she preferred to wear local ethnic outfits wherever she went. She rocked with her ‘desi look’.
Dhanush wearing a Veshti was in his elements as he talked about the film. “I had apprehensions doing a Hindi movie initially. But once Anand Rai narrated the scripted I was floored. I’m very happy with the final output” says the actor
Dhanush pleaded with the media not to compare him with his father-in-law Superstar Rajinikanth. Dhanush said : “Rajni sir is a legend and don't compare me with him. I grew up watching his movies. I will be showing him the film on release day of Raanjhanaa and will ask for his expert comments.”
Ambikapathy clashing with Maryan, Dhanush said : “ As per schedule Maryan was to release in May but due to certain problems it got delayed. The film is yet to be certified so I can’t say anything about its release.”
