Dia Mirza looked stunning in an Indian wear as she walked the ramp for designer duo Shyamal and Bhumika on the last day of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.
Shyamal and Bhumika presented their collection A Royal Procession at the event. The ensemble was inspired by the splendour of Maharajahs along with 16th century couture, which had a blend of Mughal and Rajput aesthetics.
Dia Mirza, the show stopper, was covered in bridal ornaments, wearing a red zardosi covered lehenga, tiny velvet choli and shimmering dupatta. Lamps on the stage gradually lit up and created the Rajput and Mughal eras as the models emerged on to the ramp.
The silhouettes for women featured kalidaars, cholis, overlapping jackets, lehenga, swirling ornate panelled lehengas, sensuous saris, collared blouses, shrugs and kotis with detailing in the form of luntkans at the end of dupattas and backs of sexy cholis. Men's wear had bundgalas, sherwanis, churidars, bundies and jackets along with colourful turbans.
When it came to colours, the designers used scarlet, forest green, berry, earthy beige, sunflower gold, blue and black.
