After the social media took a U turn about the story where a girl named Hanan in student uniform was selling fish in the market to earn a living, Ramaleela director Arun Gopy has posted his side of the story.
“This is not for who don’t believe me, but for those who have trusted me… I have known Hanan only after the news came out yesterday. It was only the respect for a young girl struggling to live. That was why when I read a comment that asked if I will give her a chance in my movie, I said yes. It was later that I talked to her, when I got her number through a journalist. I don’t know what has happened before or after…” he says in his Facebook post.
Hanan, who was hailed for her bravery by the social media initially, was subjected to harsh comments following a campaign that said, her story was a publicity stunt for Arun Gopy’s forthcoming movie featuring Pranav Mohanlal.
The attacks continued even after her college principal confirmed the story and said that Hanan’s story as shown in the report was a genuine one.
