Mollywood artists’ forum, A.M.M.A had called for action against Kerala Chalachitra Academy chairman filmmaker Kamal for making a statement allegedly mocking the veteran artists.

Kamal had reportedly said that only a few among AMMA members are active as actors and the rest are looking for “kaineettam”, which is the money that the organisations provide to the veteran actors.

AMMA had sent a complaint to minister A K Balan against this statement. The complaint was in the name of veteran artists Madhu, Janardhanan, Kaviyoor Ponnamma and KPAC Lalitha.

Later Kamal told the media that he has been misquoted and he never meant to make a remark against veteran artists. He refused to comment about taking back Dileep to AMMA.
