Bollywood director Bejoy Nambiar’s Solo opened to mixed reviews, but almost everyone was of the same opinion about the rather ineffective climax of the anthology’s final film, in which the hero Dulquer Salmaan played the Army cadet Rudra Ramachandran.
The climax of Solo went for a cut as a result and the story now has a rather abrupt ending, as per some of the viewers.
Bejoy Nambiar tweeted, “For all those asking about the changed ending. It has been done without my knowledge and consent. Good or Bad I stand by the film I made.”
In a shocking Facebook post, Dulquer urged all “not to kill Solo.” The hero also wrote that “I stand by Bejoy Nambiar. And his version. Always. Cutting, shuffling or whatever by persons unrelated to the making of the film will also aid in killing it.”
Now the film’s producer Abraham Mathew has told a prominent Malayalam online portal, “the climax of the film was a rather unacceptable one for the society. That’s why we decided to cut those portions. The viewers are 100 % happy about our decision.”
