Director Vetrimaran turns producer

Ace director Vetrimaran one of the pathbreakers in Tamil cinema who made the national award winning Aadukalam is turning producer.

After directing two critically acclaimed films Pollathavan and Aadukalam he has launched a production house that has been named Grass Root Film Company.

The first film to be produced under this banner will be a Siddharth starrer to be directed by his long-time assistant Manigandan. The film will be written and scripted by Vetri who will also be producing it.

The film has the working title, NH 4 and will be set against the backdrop of the National Highways leading to Bangalore.   Vetrimaran’s favourite actor Kishore is playing a pivotal role in the film. 

Velraj is the cinematographer and editing will be by Kishore. The heroine hunt is going on for the project and shooting will commence in the first week of March.

Siddharth has tweeted: "Starting my pre-production work on Vetrimaran's Tamil language home production today, really exciting project. Here we go.”
