Drishyam, which could possibly become the highest ever grosser in Malayalam, is facing piracy threat as illegitimate copies of the film has been posted on the Internet.
As per certain estimates, thousands have either watched it online or downloaded the film already.
“We have identified one of the miscreants, who is a Malayali youth studying in Ukraine. We are moving against all who are involved in this,” says Jeethu Joseph, the director of Drishyam.
Online piracy of movies was being considered as a big threat always but there have been no real measures to take on those involved in the crime.
“Mostly youngsters are involved in this and they are not really aware about the extent of damage they are doing or the possible punishments and trouble that they can receive. But we have decided to use all legal means to curb this,” says Jeethu.
