Drishyam turns red-hot in remake circuit!

Jeetu Joseph directed Mohanlal Christmas release Drishyam in Malayalam, turning out to be a superhit, has become the hottest film in the remake circuit. Ever since the film released on December 19, a lot of directors from Bollywood and Kollywood has been asking for the remake rights.

The buzz is that within three days of its release all Indian language rights of the film has been sold for a whopping amount!  As per sources, Mohanlal’s brother-in-law Suresh Balaji who is a line producer for big banners has brought the Tamil , Hindi and Telugu rights of the film. The Kannada remake rights have gone to E4e of leading distributor and producer Mukesh Mehta

Suresh Balaji  will be the line producer for Rajkumar Sethupathy, actor turned producer who is making Malini 22 Palayamkottai , the Tamil and Telugu version of 22 Female Kottayam.

Rajkumar who did many films in Malayalam as hero in the 1980’s is married to actress Sripriya who is directing Malini 22 Palayamkottai

As per the contract, Jeethu will be the director in Tamil and Hindi versions of the film though there are rumours that Sripriya might don the director's cap in Kollywood.

The grapevine has it that the Hindi version is being produced by Reliance, with Suresh Balaji as line producer.
