Tamil films dubbed into Telugu still attracts the audience provided the content is entertaining as proved by the success of G.K.Reddy’s Pandem Kodi which recently completed 50 days all over Andhra.
G.K.Reddy’s son Vishal is the hero of the film and Meera Jasmine is the leading lady. Vishal is not the conventional good looking hero but his style of acting and choosing of scripts has made him a hot favourite in Tamil cinema especially in B and C centres after the huge success of his Chellamay (Prema Chadaranga) and Sandakozhi (Pandem Kodi).
Pandem Kodi is a mixture of village and city theme and was directed by Lingusamy who is now busy with Vikram’s Bheema. This film was a huge hit in Tamilnadu as a racy family entertainer with foot tapping music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Raghu Kunche who sang all the songs in Telugu has today become very popular.
G.K.Reddy has earlier made two Telugu films SP Parasuram with Chiranjeevi and M.Dharmaraju with Mohan Babu. Now along with his elder son Vikram, he has made Vishal a big star by their marketing wizardry. Now Vishal’s next film Thimiru in Tamil has Reema Sen and Shreya Reddy in the lead releasing on August 4 which carries good reports and is also being dubbed into Telugu.
