The trailer launch of J Anbazhagan’s Aadhi Bhagavan, directed by Ameer was rather an emotional moment for the cast and crew. The film took over a year and a half in the making and is finally seeing a release, after a grand audio launch in Canada earlier this month.
The cast of Jeyam Ravi, Neetu Chandra, the producer and director along with DOP Devraj and lyricists Snehan and Arivumathi gathered to meet the media and launch the trailer.
A detailed AV of Yuvan (who was conspicuous by his absence) the music director, the producer, the director, Jeyam Ravi and heroine Neetu were shown before a short trailer.
The event saw a seesaw of emotions. While Snehan asked Ameer to give him due recognition since he was in all his films so far, Ameer concluded that Snehan was perhaps miffed that he was not included in the AV.
“But he is always a part of my movies and next time we will include him in the AV which got missed out this time,” conceded Ameer. Neetu Chandra spoke about her meeting with Ameer during an item song they had done in a film earlier, apart from the delays that had dogged the film.
“Everyone told me to stay away from Ameer since he had an image of a very serious person who will push you to the brim! But I am really grateful to him for this film and role which is the best in my career so far. The film has had many delays and many of the crew members have left. Only Ameer, producer Anbazhagan, Yuvan, Ravi and myself are still there!” said Neetu
Ameer lauded the efforts of his hero Ravi and the audience saw Ravi’s eyes tearing up as he heard him speak, “I have put him through several rigorous stress during the film but not once did he ever complain till today. He comes from a different school where actors are treated differently so it was tough for him to adjust. I don’t know how to sweet talk my cast and at times I get tough and make them work hard. But that’s the only way I know to make films. But if there is any actor I would work with again, its Jeyam Ravi.”
Ravi for his part said that there were times when he wanted to throttle Ameer and at other times wanted to hug him during the making of the film, “But the end result is amazing and I owe it all to him. The film will be a milestone for me.”
The film is a ‘mafioso love, action and revenge’ story and is a racy action thriller set in different countries.
