Vishal is a busy man. His mass masala entertainer Madha Gaja Raja is ready for release on September 6 worldwide. sify.com caught up with the actor at his office.
Madha Gaja Raja is your third release in 2013. Please comment
Yes (Smiles) After Samar and Pattathu Yaanai, Madha Gaja Raja is my hat trick release this year. And I will have Padiya Naadu too by end of the year, which makes it four. Fingers crossed.
Why did you decide to release Madha Gaja Raja under your home banner Vishal Film Factory? But the stills suggest that it has an overdose of glamour? How has music of Vijay Antony turned out? Do you have any September sentiments? How big is the release?
I am so confident about the film. If I didn’t take this film, the chances of it seeing light of day was remote. I can assure you that it will be a minimum guarantee film with all Sundar C masala. It carries a U certificate and is packaged for family audiences with good songs, comedy and emotions in the right mix.
That is just in the songs. Sundar C always packages the film in a glamorous, glossy manner. We have Varalakshmi and Anjali in lead roles with Sada in a special song number, which in fact was shot first. And Santhanam is a scream and his comedy scenes with me is sure to bring the house down.
It’s my third film with Vijay Antony and Sundar’s first. As the film is a mass one, we wanted fast peppy numbers and Vijay has delivered it. The song I sing has become so popular and I have to thank my music director who had faith in me.
(Laughs) I am glad you noticed it. September has always been lucky for me. My first film Chellamay released in September 2003 and then Malaikottai too released the same month. I didn’t want to miss this dream date of Sep 6 as it is a four-day long weekend.
The film is releasing huge in Tamil and Telugu (Natraj Thaaney Raja) in nearly 800 screens, definitely my biggest release. All I have to say is that Madha Gaja Raja has entertainment in abundance and please go for it this weekend. You will not be disappointed.
