Music composer GV Prakash needs no introduction. He is perhaps one the most hardworking guys in the industry and his earnestness and sincerity warms the cockles of your heart. GV Prakash has proven yet again that talent runs in his genes, with the response to the album of Thaandavam being overwhelming. Speaking to sify.com, he reveals more about the experience of working in Thaandavam, his 25th film
This is your fourth film with AL Vijay. Your comfort level with him seems to be the reason behind all that good music?
Yes definitely. We share the same wavelength and after working together in films like Kireedom, Madrasapattinam and Deivathirumagal the rapport strengthened. In fact, I would compose and he would take my songs and make situations for the tunes for songs like Oru Padhi and Pookal Koodam.
Being your 25th film, was there any sort of pressure?
Yes certainly. Expectations do arise and one has to fulfill them. But I am glad to say that the response to the music has been overwhelming and has exceeded my expectation!
Can we expect anything different in the RR?
Yes, it’s certainly a very stylishly done RR and you will hear a new genre of music for the Tamil industry. It’s been done keeping in mind the action thriller genre of the movie. We used a full, rich orchestra for it. We recorded it in India but mastered it in London.
Which is your favourite song?
I like all but you can say that Oru Paadhi is my favourite.
What are your future projects, in Hindi and Tamil?
I am doing Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly in Hindi. In Tamil I have Annakodiyum Veeranamum, Paradesi and Thalaivan which is AL Vijay’s film with Vijay.
Do you ever forget that you are GV Prakash the music composer?
(Smiles) Yeah.. very easily, very quickly, when I’m with my friends.
