Talking about his debut Tamil film Velaikkaran, versatile Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil said “The film’s director Mohan Raja told me that his idea to make the screenplay interesting is to tell something informative to the audience in each and every scene. Initially, the title of Velaikkaran was ‘May Dhinam’(May Day)”.
“For a single scene, Raja conceives three versions. He would confirm us the final version only at the time of the shoot. I did Velaikkaran because of the script, would have agreed even if it was a Malayalam film”, said Fahadh on his first Tamil film. After Velaikkaran, Fahadh has also signed his another Tamil film to be directed by Mani Ratnam.
Fahadh also said what he loved about the script is Mohan Raja’s perspective on workers. “When Mohan Raja narrated me the script of Velaikkaran, he told that a worker is also a consumer. Any worker will sweat eight hours in his workplace and he becomes a consumer in the remaining 16 hours”.
Velaikkaran will be releasing in more than 1200 screens on December 22.
