Media reports from Delhi state that awardees are planning to boycott the National Award Ceremony after President Ram Nath Kovind decided to spend only one hour for award events and he is likely to hand over awards only to eleven winners.
Though there will be a group photo-op with the President, award winners are planning to boycott the ceremony, says the reports.
Awardees feel either all the winners should be honored or the President shouldn’t hand over the awards to anyone. They are perfectly fine with the group photo-op if no one receives the award from the President. The strategy of honoring selected eleven awardees only creating needless tension and uncertainty.
All the actors and technicians consider National Award as a prestigious event and they always dream of collecting the award from the President. Among the winners Fahadh and Parvathy are in Delhi to receive the award.
However, sources say that the awardees are only boycotting the ceremony and not the awards.
