The disagreement between FEFSI(Film Employees Federation of South India) and Tamil Film Producers’ Council(TFPC) has created an uneasiness in Kollywood. On Sunday, FEFSI’s President RK Selvamani announced that if TFPC refuses to agree for the new wage demanded by the federation, they would begin their strike on August 1.
Selvamani says that there are 25,000 families in FEFSI and TFPC’s decision to not pay the already agreed wages is totally unfair. But TFPC has clearly mentioned in their statement that the shoot will happen with or without the support of FEFSI.
TFPC says that they are ready to work together with FEFSI but not with the Technician’s Union, who have always been pressurizing the Council and cause huge loss to the Producers. In the statement, TFPC demanded that the Technician’s Union should compensate the losses caused to the Billa Pandi team as the shoot of the film was stalled demanding double payment.
