Four Mollywood actresses have resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), in protest against the decision to bring back Dileep into the fold.

Dileep was dismissed from AMMA last year following his arrest in the actress’ molestation case. The Annual General Body of AMMA last Sunday decided to revoke that decision.

Actresses Bhavana, Remya Nambeesan, Geetu Mohandas and Rima Kallingal have resigned from AMMA in protest against this decision. They have announced this through the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC)  Facebook page.

Bhavana says that this actor’s involvement has resulted in denying her several projects in the past and AMMA did nothing against it.

Remya Nambeesan says that AMMA has done nothing for the cause of women in the industry.

It is clear that the actresses are not ready to accept the hypocritical attitudes of AMMA and their action is expected to have serious impact in Mollywood.
