There are no major releases this Friday, and the box-office is getting cold. The trade feels it is the Enthiran effect, as the audio of the film has caused a terrific hype and whipped up a huge curiosity around the film.
Everybody is interested in only talking about the Rajinikanth extravaganza. Most of the people are interested in sitting at home this weekend and watching last week’s Enthiran audio launch in Malaysia. It will be telecast as a two part show on Sun TV on Saturday and Sunday prime time.
Meanwhile there are two Tamil releases. Murali’s son Atharva’s long delayed debut film Baana Kathadi directed by Badri Venkatesh, where he is paired opposite the hot and happening Samantha and also has Prasanna in a powerful role.
The Sathya Jyothi produced film is virtually getting a solo release in 12 Chennai screens. Yuvan’s songs from the film have already become hits. The other Tamil release is soft porn Pesuvathu Kiliya.
The big multiplex release is the Bollywood film Aisha, a film made by Anil Kapoor to showcase his daughter Sonam. Since multiplex major PVR is the producers it has got prime time shows in all Chennai multiplexes.
The Hollywood releases are Predators and Fireball, while Ravi Teja’s Don Seenu is also premièring.
