Vikram's Deivathirumagal directed by Vijay gets a solo release this week.
It is pitted against the Hollywood franchise Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Both the films will be targeting the family audiences.
However, UTV which is entering the Tamil market in a big way is aggressively marketing Deivathirumagal.
It has got the best of the screens, prime shows and is releasing in 28 screens in Chennai and surrounding suburbs.
Vikram's star power should enable the film to take a good opening.
Warner Brother's distributors of HP 7 who had a standoff with multiplexes in India sorted the issue at the last minute.
In Chennai they have managed to get 15 screens but Inox controlled multiplexes at Citi Centre and Chandra Mall are not screening the film.
The other big Bollywood film Hrithik Roshan's Zindagi Na Milega Dobra is getting a 12 screen releases.
