It is Mani Ratnam’s big bash at the Chennai Box-Office. His Raavanan in Tamil is getting released in 55 screens in Chennai and its suburbs falling in Chengalpet.
The Hindi version of the film Raavan is releasing in seven Chennai screens while Villain in Telugu is opening in two screens.
The tri lingual is going for a saturation release, so that its producers Reliance Big Pictures garner huge openings. The first official screening of both the versions was a charity show at Sathyam Cinemas on Thursday night.
On Friday morning the first public screening was held at 5am in the wee hours of the morning at Kasi theatre in Jaferkhanpet, to a full house. The film is expected to take a gigantic opening.
Meanwhile Singam is holding on well, though all multiplexes have shifted it to the smaller screens. It looks like the Suriya starrer will take on Raavanan, and survive the weekend. All others except for The Karate Kid are goners.
